The Fourth of July

July 2, 2020

Saturday is July 4th. On this day, America celebrates its independence from Great Britain.

This has been an extremely challenging year for Americans. As we celebrate our nation’s freedom, pause between bites of hot dogs and hamburgers to pray for peace, unity, justice, and equality.

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day. ~Edith Lovejoy Pierce

A Wish for 2018

December 28, 2017

Like the peace and unspoiled beauty found in new-fallen snow, may 2018 bring the same peace and beauty into our world.
