Movin’ On

This is where I’ll be on Wednesday – sitting in my airplane seat, looking down at the clouds and contemplating my next move. It’s really not my next move; it’s our daughter’s move. Being good parents, we’ll be helping her move — again.

I’m good at moving. My husband and I have moved numerous times to numerous states. Since the time my daughter left for college and now, she has moved nine times. NINE TIMES! I keep wondering how that’s possible. This will be her tenth move and, hopefully, her last for some time to come. She has purchased a place of her own. She’ll finally have a permanent residence, and people will stop asking us for her new address. Listen. Can you hear us cheering?

We’ve packed tools, paint brushes, and our moving clothes. Boxes, carts, and dollies are waiting to be put into action. We’ve done our squatting, lifting, and weight-bearing exercises. We are prepared. Forget about the aches and pains we may endure. Our daughter is moving to a permanent place. Bring it on!
